The journey of building Alteia
The timeline below highlights key milestones in the development of Alteia and the investment platform it manages today.
Launch of the original investment platform
Our early work focused on structured, short-duration trade finance in African markets, laying the foundations for the investment approach, underwriting principles, and regional knowledge that continue to shape Alteia today.
Expanding investment capabilities
With the arrival of the EM High Yield Fund SP, the platform broadened its structured trade finance offering, supporting a wider range of investment opportunities in African trade corridors.
Entering the GCC market
The launch of our GCC-focused, Shariah-compliant trade finance fund extended the platform’s geographic reach and supported continued strategic growth. (Now operating as the Alteia GCC Fund SP.)
The inception of Alteia
Following a management buyout, Alteia emerged as an independent investment manager. During the same year, the Group’s Saudi investment firm, then operating as Ejada Capital (now Alteia Capital Ltd), received its Capital Market Authority (CMA) license, creating a regulated presence in the Kingdom.
Broadening investment solutions
The Group grew its investment offering by introducing the Alteia Commodity Trade Fund SP, Alteia Saudi Murabaha Fund, and Al Fowzan Fund. This move further developed its conventional and Shariah-compliant capabilities.
Platform growth and brand alignment
Introducing the Fixed Income Fund SP widened the Group’s investment choices. That same year, Ejada Capital rebranded as Alteia Capital, keeping its original legal structure, regulatory commitments, and service standards. The Group also won Best Commodities Alternative Investment Fund at the 2025 Wealth & Finance Awards.
Continuing to grow
Today, the Alteia Group brand unites regulated investment entities in Mauritius, Saudi Arabia, and Abu Dhabi, alongside an operational presence in South Africa. We continue to build out our offerings with the addition of the Alteia Saudi Musharakah Fund, and are proud to be named Best Trade Finance Provider – Non-Bank by Global Finance in 2026.
